Committees
LVEDC has a number of committees that help us fulfill our mission of promoting and fostering economic development in the Lehigh Valley. We have a dedicated group of volunteers that give of their time and energy to help us improve the regional economy of the Lehigh Valley. We are always welcoming new, creative minds to join us in the process.
Administrative Committee
The role of the Administrative Committee is to oversee the administrative functions of the LVEDC, including review of the proposed budget, financial statements, Employee Handbook and the policy and procedures of LVEDC. Business Development & Cultivation Committee
The Business Development & Cultivation Committee is tasked with implementing the Strategic Fund Development Plan to increase the number of investors and sponsorships to maximize private funding for LVEDC. The committee also enhances business retention and expansion efforts by helping to determine appropriate methods for identifying and reaching out to Lehigh Valley employers to learn about their business barriers to development and growth. Innovation, Talent and Entrepreneurship Committee
The Innovation, Talent and Entrepreneurship Committee is tasked with developing programs and strategies to attract and retain entrepreneurs and young professionals and assist start-up and small businesses to bring a diverse workforce to the Lehigh Valley. It collaborates with partners on growing new resources, leveraging partner programs and strengthening strategic partnership to increase formation, growth and prosperity of small or start-up businesses. Legislative and Government Relations Committee
The purpose of the Government Relations Committee of LVEDC is to promote economic development in the Lehigh Valley region by facilitating two-way communication between LVEDC and our elected federal, state and local officials on matters affecting Lehigh Valley businesses. The committee also focuses on creating a consensus on regional economic development project priorities and communicates them to state and federal officials. Real Estate Development Committee
The mission of the Real Estate Development Committee is to identify real estate impediments and provide insight on what businesses current needs are with regards to capital and incentives in order to retain and expand existing businesses and attract target industries to the Lehigh Valley. The committee also looks for trends to identify pressing issues and prioritizes them to address needs including infrastructure. Sustainable Development & Urban Infrastructure Committee
Formed in 2007 as the Transportation Committee, it initially was a subcommittee of the Planning Committee. This committee reviews and advises LVEDC with regard to local and regional transportation issues, primarily focusing on passenger rail transportation.
