ACTIVE DATA EXCHANGE: Sue Yee saves your reputation, money and bacon
Its a combination of talent, truthfulness and a supernatural self-possession that could make a Baptist believe in reincarnation that makes you buy into Sue Yee. Or the Sue Yee brand. Her company doesnt initially grab you by your obvious ROIs. But chances are very good your company needs Active Data Exchange to increase profits. And heres why.
Three women at a photo shoot can be an adventure. Ladies have it over guys in many ways. Not only are they much easier to look at, they can multitask like a Porsche handles curves and are perceptive in that they know in five minutes if you’re worth the time or not. (Chumps need not apply.) But women are also detailed-oriented. Sue Yee, the Yoda-like CEO of a cool company you’re sure to hear more about called Active Data Exchange, tells me this last point during our interview, when she mentions the top execs at her company are members of the fairer sex.
But this attention to detail, every detail, coupled with an artiste photographer, is making the photo shoot last longer than most dictatorships do in Banana Republics. But the reward is the result: the photos turn out chic. So attention to detail is where it’s at. And the ladies know this. That’s why Active Data Exchange is an investor with Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation. LVEDC’s attention to detail in attracting, retaining and expanding businesses in the region, helps promote the region’s overall quality of life.
“LVEDC’s attention to specifics when it comes to promoting and marketing the Lehigh Valley is impressive,” Yee notes. “LVEDC is a tremendous resource to the region’s business community and those companies considering moving here.”
Representing It’s a combination of talent, truthfulness and a supernatural self-possession that could make a Baptist believe in reincarnation that makes you buy into Sue Yee. Or the Sue Yee brand. Her company doesn’t initially grab you by your obvious ROIs. But chances are very good your company needs Active Data Exchange to increase profits. And here’s why.
Everything revolves around time and date. So we provide master calendaring solutions that give you a 360 degree, inside-out view of enterprise information driven by date. By collecting any date information from any department, region, product line or distribution channel, you no longer have to look in eight different places to find out what’s going on. Pick a date, know what’s happening.
Using disparate calendars, memos, applications, and inboxes to store different events, milestones, deadlines and activities, makes it near impossible to search for enterprise-wide event information to avoid colossal timing problems. Conflicts arise not only when events target the same audience on the same night, but also when entire departments take actions without considering the wider effect on other areas of the organization. The challenge is to deliver master calendars in a meaningful and productive way across your organization – because timing is everything.
Ride over. Yee helps your company become more aligned. And the more aligned your company is, the better chance you have of accomplishing your primary goal of making more money.
Most companies have no idea how to present date and event information that doesn’t resemble a third-graders’ bedroom. Active Data replaces mess with organization and chaos with clarity. Active Data allows a business to implement effective planning and executive level snapshots with executive level event dashboards that provide high level views of all activities across the organization.
“We do this by providing an organizational-wide calendar layer that allows for senior management, staff, customers and prospects to filter calendar views relevant to them,” Yee says.
Techies will be glad to know Active Data’s calendar is developed using the .NET framework and is completely web-enabled. That means all functions can be accessed via any Internet browser. Systems support includes Microsoft IIS, 6.0, SQL 2000, SQL 2005 and SQL 2008.
Active Data’s calendar can act as central database that takes date information from any source and deliver them to any source, whether it’s your mobile phone, other software, or your Facebook page. They can easily set up automatic event feeds info on any web page, plus Active Data has the ability to update events to SharePoint or other web sites.
“Active Data calendar is a perfect match for any organization,” Yee says. “We have clients throughout North America, such as Electronic Arts, Excela Health, Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and Lehigh University.
“We started primarily in the education sector, but we have already branched to the government, healthcare and corporate sectors.”
Hollar back dawg
There is no stone left unturned with Yee. Walk into their third-floor office of Brodhead Road in LVIP IV and you notice two things: class and comfort. Neither are accidents. It’s that attention to detail thing. The studio-track lighting, the color schemes on the walls, the large (and I mean large) clock on the wall is the stylish backdrop for a staff that is working to beat the band. The office has a casual ambiance that supports a nose-to-the grindstone work ethic. You don’t even know what she’s selling by the looks of the place, but you know that whoever runs this place has to be good.
Part of Yee’s magnetism is an incredible self-confidence and swagger. It’s the same kind that can transform Shawn Carter growing up dirt poor in the Brooklyn projects into The Superman of Hip Hop. Brooklyn stand up. But Yee doesn’t boast with Jay-Z’s penchant for bravado. She’s raps with an eye toward generosity and soulfulness that would rival a Zen Buddha. “You have a choice in life. You can have positive energy versus negative energy,” she notes. “You can forget the rat race. You can be centered, at the core, as a person. You’ll be able to handle adversity much better.”
Yet to view Yee through the strict prism of guru would be a disservice to where she’s at now and her current powers of persuasion with Active Data. While she is as wise as someone can be without being preoccupied with the matter, she is first and foremost a very sharp businesswoman.
“It doesn’t have to cost you millions of dollars to implement,” she says of Active Data Exchange services. “And I guess what we do is prevent embarrassing moments. Every organization has information attached to a date, so it’s important to have systems in place, so you never have to say – ‘I didn’t even know.’”
The future looks promising. The latest release of the Active Date Calendar product suite transports event creation, room scheduling, registration and master calendaring to a level approaching Mount Everest.
“It allows for powerful event marketing and room scheduling,” she notes. “And that enables you to build an effective event broadcasting network across the web to improve communications and spur attendance in less time for less money.”
Doesn’t take Einstein to figure out this company has it goin’ on thanks to looking at all those little, hard to see things.
Picture perfect.
