Finding the right talent and keeping workforce’s skills up-to-date are essential to any business’ success. Luckily, the Lehigh Valley has many resources to help your business thrive.

The Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board along with our higher education partners including the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges, work closely with LVEDC to meet the Lehigh Valley’s workforce needs.

Pipeline for success.

Skills USA helps vocational technical students learn about potential career paths by teaching leadership skills and connecting them with local business leaders. The Charter Partners Institute helps high school students see the value in entrepreneurship and helps students start businesses at their schools. The Keystone Innovation Zone Internship Program places local college students at startup companies located in Southside Bethlehem, many of which have directly resulted in job placement.

Our plentiful higher education institutions prepare future workforce while customized on the job training can be created for your business at both Lehigh Carbon Community College and Northampton Community College.

Lehigh Valley Workforce Investment Board, Inc. (LVWIB) is working to help business and industry preserve our competitive edge with a highly-educated and skilled workforce. If you are hiring new workers or if your current workforce needs upgraded skills, the LVWIB has immediate opportunities and the financial resources to train your workers. Whether you have one or over 1,000 employees, the LVWIB has funding available through our On-The-Job Training and Industry Partnership programs to help you achieve a world-class, competitive workforce

  • Up to 75 percent reimbursement of wages for On-The-Job training of new hires or upgrading the skills of your existing workforce is available to offset your training costs.   • Up to 75 percent reimbursement of training your existing workforce in higher skills, specific to the targeted clusters of Diversified Manufacturing, Healthcare, Logistics and Transportation, Energy and Food/Beverage. Industry Partnerships bring together employers in the same industry to train workers within the cluster to create a skilled workforce.
