Preparing a Skilled Workforce

Recognizing the importance of providing a superior pipeline of highly-trained workers, the Lehigh Valley has three exceptional Career and Technical schools that prepare more than 1,000 high school students each year for careers in skilled trades.

Pipeline for Success

The Lehigh Valley offers a multitude of programs that contribute to its pipeline of highly-trained workers.

Our K-12 schools graduate over 7,000 students annually. Our three Career and Technical Centers prepare over 1,000 students annually for technical careers, the military, or post-secondary education.

In addition, all three Career and Technical Centers offer adult training programs and certifications based on local employer needs to prepare adult learners for job-openings available in the Lehigh Valley.

SkillsUSA Council

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure that America has a skilled workforce.

A nonprofit national education association, SkillsUSA serves middle school, high school and college/postsecondary students preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations.

Lehigh Valley, Pa., boasts the only SkillsUSA Council that not only offers all the benefits of the SkillsUSA national organization, but also professional development conferences and interest clubs year-round. It helps vocational-technical students learn about potential career paths by teaching leadership skills and connecting them with regional business leaders.
