Doug Dopp, Senior Director of Manufacturing at Broadcom, talks about how Broadcom remains a critical part of the technology economy at the 2023 Fall Signature Event. Broadcom operates a wafer fabrication facility in Upper Macungie Township where 250 employees develop and manufacture indium phosphide semiconductor lasers and detectors for fiber-optic networks and data centers. Those technologies are key to recent developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
