LVstartup Provides Coronavirus Information to Lehigh Valley Entrepreneurs

The May 2020 issue of LVstartup has been released, with this edition of the monthly e-newsletter continuing to highlight coronavirus-related news and information for entrepreneurs and startups in the Lehigh Valley.

This month’s edition highlighted stories about OraSure Technologies developing a coronavirus test, US Specialty Formulations helping work toward a vaccine, and Applied Separations, Inc. working to reduce equipment shortages for healthcare workers.

Other stories included B. Braun modifying pumps to treat coronavirus patients, Flexicon expanding operations in Lehigh Valley, the Baker Institute holding its student entrepreneurship event online, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners receiving $4 million to support clients impacted by COVID-19.

The issue also spotlights several upcoming events, including an LVtech virtual meeting, and Lehigh Valley LaunchBox hosting a virtual educational events series focused on women entrepreneurs and how they are handling challenges caused by COVID-19.

LVEDC’s Entrepreneurship Council of the Lehigh Valley aims to improve the entrepreneurial environment of the region by listening to its entrepreneurs, identifying their unmet needs, communicating regional entrepreneurship initiatives between council members, and connecting local resources to continue the development of new entrepreneurial support initiatives.
