On June 5th the Lehigh Valley was recognized as one of just two regions to be designated as one the nation’s emerging markets at the I.CON 2014 Industrial Conference for Real Estate. It was during the event that Don Cunningham, LVEDC president and CEO, succinctly explained why.
“The Lehigh Valley is one of the fastest growing regions in the country because of its solid economic foundation and assets,” he noted. “We anticipate this trend to continue because of our location, cost competitiveness, workforce, quality of life and available development sites.”
The list of logistics and distribution companies is lengthy and inclusive. Some of them include:
Crayola, LLC – The crayon-maker colored their 800,000 square-foot distribution center on the former grounds of the former Bethlehem Steel.
National Freight Industries – A massive 980,000 square-foot distribution center handles Ocean Spray products with the delicacy of an egg.
Nestle Waters – Splashes the competition with their Lehigh Valley operations.
Luxury Lane – A top-flight e-tailer and distribution company has 43,000 thousands reasons to love the Lehigh Valley.
Quality Packaging Systems International – Knows the Lehigh Valley packs a punch when they created 283 jobs here.
Walmart – Everything this company does is big, including 1.2 million square-feet of distribution operations in the Lehigh Valley.
Dry Storage Corporation Logistics – Is ready for anything with their facilities in the Lehigh Valley.
Just Born, Inc. – This leading candy manufacturer knows the region is a sweet spot with a 600,000 square foot distribution facility.
Daiichi Sankyo – Lehigh Valley workers oversee pharmaceutical bottling and packing lines that can run as fast as 250 bottles a minute.
Coca-Cola – Quenches thirsts from the Lehigh Valley.
