Reeb Millwork Corporation, a Fountain Hill-based wholesaler of millwork products, will add 147 jobs with its new expansion.A Fountain Hill-based manufacturer plans to open a second facility on former Bethlehem Steel land, thanks in part to financial assistance from the state Governor's Action Team.
The $38 million expansion project will allow Reeb Millwork Corporation, a wholesaler of millwork products, to build a 175,000-square-foot facility on 61 acres in the Lehigh Valley Industrial Park VII along Route 412, creating 147 new jobs.
The Governor's Action Team are a group of economic development professionals who work with businesses that considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. They often work in collaboration with the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. (LVEDC), who maintains an office for the team in its Bethlehem headquarters.
"Reeb Millwork has had strong presence in the Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania for decades," said Don Cunningham, LVEDC president and CEO. "They are a high-quality manufacturer and it was critical to keep them here and growing in the region and the state. It took a great partnership to make this happen. We are grateful to the Commonwealth for its help in making it happen."
The company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development including a $400,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant that facilitates investment and job creation, $441,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits, and a $66,150 grant for Guaranteed Free Training that will be used to train the expanding workforce.
Reeb Millwork will purchase 61 acres for the new facility in Bethlehem, Northampton County, about five miles away from its existing location, allowing them to expand operations and support growth.
In addition to the 147 new jobs, the project ensurs the retention of 267 existing positions over the next three years.
