New funding announced by Gov. Josh Shapiro will help to redevelop industrial sites, upgrade infrastructure, create housing, and expand education, healthcare, and community services in the Lehigh Valley.

More than two dozen projects in the Lehigh Valley were awarded about $33 million. The grants come from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which funds projects with regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, promoting economic growth, creating jobs, increasing tax revenue, and contributing to vibrant, resilient communities.

Shapiro announced nearly $600 million in grants to more than 400 projects across Pennsylvania on Nov. 1.

“My administration is investing $600 million to revitalize communities, expand our agricultural sector, create more opportunity for our workers and so much more,” he said. “Pennsylvania is open for business and my administration will continue to work with the private sector, nonprofits, and organized labor to make our Commonwealth a leader in economic development, job creation, and innovation.”
