A senior leader at Eli Lilly and Company will take the stage at Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation’s Annual Meeting on March 17 to share insights about the company’s historic $3.5 billion investment here and highlight how Lilly is committed to becoming a community partner and resource.
Dan VonDielingen, Senior Vice President-Global Parenteral Network Expansion, will oversee the startup of Lilly Lehigh Valley, a 925,000-square-foot pharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Upper Macungie Township that will employ 850 and create 2,000 construction jobs.
“We are thrilled to have Dan, along with other members of the Lilly team, at the Annual Meeting,” said Don Cunningham, LVEDC President & CEO. “He will help to provide an inside look at Lilly, the process behind attracting their record-setting investment in the Lehigh Valley, and our partnership to deliver results for Lilly, the region, and Pennsylvania.”

VonDielingen has been with Lilly for more than 25 years, holding roles in engineering, quality assurance, and operations across many sites and networks including drug substance, drug product, and external manufacturing.
Lilly’s pharmaceutical manufacturing campus will be the largest life sciences project in Pennsylvania and the largest investment ever in the Lehigh Valley.
LVEDC’s Annual Meeting, Lehigh Valley’s premier economic development event, will celebrate a record setting 2025 in economic development, driven by Lilly. The 90-minute program will share how LVEDC and its partners are working together to continue the momentum and position the region to meet its challenges and continue its success.
The meeting also will feature a Lehigh Valley Trivia Contest, hosted by Grover Silcox, a long-time television personality and five-time Emmy Award winner. Attendees can participate using their smartphones to answer questions and see how they score in real time.

The Lehigh Valley has long been one of America’s manufacturing centers. Manufacturing is the largest part of the region’s economy with more than 700 manufacturers making products that touch every corner of American life. As America celebrates the 250th Anniversary of its founding, the Lehigh Valley enters a new chapter in its history with the manufacturing of medicines.
