The Lehigh Valley’s premier economic development event will take an inside look at the recently announced Eli Lilly and Company selection of the region for a $3.5 billion investment and a record setting 2025 in economic development.

The Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) Annual Meeting, which regularly gathers 800 members of the region’s economic development coalition from business, education, and government, will be held Tuesday, March 17 at SteelStacks at ArtsQuest Center in Bethlehem. The event features a program from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Musikfest Café and a networking reception with food and beverages throughout the center.

Registration is required to attend. Register here for the event. Sponsorships are still available. Contact Nadya Rachid, LVEDC’s Program Manager, at nrachid@lehighvalley.org for sponsorship information.

“We will kick off St. Patrick’s Day this year in the Lehigh Valley with an inside look at the largest single economic development project in the region’s history,” said Don Cunningham, President & CEO of LVEDC. “There will be special guests to help us explore a record-breaking project and record-breaking year for our region and, as always, a good opportunity to mix and mingle with each other.”

LVEDC’s Annual Meeting is the region’s largest annual economic development gathering of leaders in business, education, government, and community focused on the region’s strategic economic plan, the prior year’s economic activity, and looking ahead.

The Lehigh Valley has long been one of America’s manufacturing centers. Manufacturing is the largest part of the region’s economy with more than 700 manufacturers making products that touch every corner of American life. As America celebrates the 250th Anniversary of its founding, the Lehigh Valley enters a new chapter in its history with the manufacturing of medicines.

“The region’s life sciences sector has been a focus of LVEDC’s strategic plan, and this year marks a breakthrough and a new era with Lilly’s announcement of its $3.5 billion investment and the creation of 850 new jobs,” Cunningham said. “It was an 18-month process to bring it together and it took a dedicated group from the region and state to make it happen.”

The 90-minute program will share insights about the Lilly project and how LVEDC and its partners are working together to continue the momentum and position the region to meet its challenges and continue its success.
