A standing-room crowd is expected Tuesday for Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation’s Annual Meeting, where Gov. Josh Shapiro will join regional leaders to celebrate major economic milestones, including the historic $3.5 billion Eli Lilly and Company pharmaceutical manufacturing campus planned for the Lehigh Valley.

Leaders from business, education, government, and community organizations will gather for the event, presented by Capital Blue Cross, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m. and the 90-minute program beginning at promptly 3:30 p.m. 

The program will include:

• Gov. Shapiro sharing how Pennsylvania’s strategy for economic development is paying off, with investments including Lilly. Shapiro and his team were instrumental in landing Lilly, the largest investment in Lehigh Valley history and the largest life sciences project in Pennsylvania history.
• Remarks by Daniel VonDielingen, Lilly's Senior Vice President-Global Parenteral Network Expansion, who will share what the region can expect from Lilly.
• Remarks by LVEDC President & CEO Don Cunningham, who will provide an update on Lehigh Valley’s growing economy.
• A celebration of Lehigh Valley being ranked the No. 1 mid-sized market for economic development in the U.S. by Site Selection Magazine. The annual rankings are the benchmark assessment of economic development and growth by the corporate real estate, site selection, and economic development profession.
• A panel discussion with leaders who will explain what it took to land Lilly’s manufacturing campus, which will employ 850 people and create 2,000 construction jobs. 
• An audience-participation Lehigh Valley Trivia challenge, with prizes for the top scores.
• Other surprises, along with networking and refreshments.
