As we approach the end of 2015, the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) has announced two exciting events for the upcoming months.

LVEDC will host its final "Conversations and Cocktails" event on Oct. 29, at the Nazareth Center for the Arts, where state Sen. Mario Scavello will join us to discuss economic development in Pennsylvania's 40th district.

That will be followed next month by LVEDC's Fall Signature Event: "Mack Trucks in the Lehigh Valley and in the World." LVEDC will discuss the importance of manufacturing, one of the four targeted industries of the Lehigh Valley, while also spotlighting Mack Trucks, one of the region's largest manufacturers and employers.

"In terms of economic output, manufacturing is a major growth sector for the Lehigh Valley, one that outpaces virtually every other region in the state," said Don Cunningham, LVEDC President and CEO. "Auto and steel manufacturing are still very much alive the Lehigh Valley, and there is no better example of that than Mack Trucks, which each year makes tens of thousands of the trucks in their Macungie facility."

The Fall Signature Event, a luncheon gathering, will be held Nov. 11 starting at 11 a.m. the Mack Trucks facility at 2402 Lehigh Parkway South, Allentown. Speakers will include Cunningham and Mack Tucks Vice President and General Manager Wade Watson.

There is no cost to attend either event, but registration is required. For registration and more information about the Fall Signature Event, click here. For the "Conversations and Cocktails" event, click here.

The Conversations & Cocktails series provides LVEDC investors a unique opportunity to have targeted interaction with members of the Lehigh Valley’s legislative body in an intimate setting to discuss pressing economic issues.

A general question-and-answer session after Scavello's remarks, followed by a networking session with butlered hors d'oeurves, beer, wine, and soft drinks to be served.
