Board of Directors

Hon. Lamont McClure

Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure took office in January 2018. He previously served on Northampton County Council from 2006 to 2013, where he fought to keep Gracedale Nursing Home from being sold to a for-profit corporation. Lamont has implemented his vision of a greener, healthier, economically prosperous county. During his time in office, Gracedale Nursing Home remains in the hands of the County. Lamont promised to fight against warehouse proliferation, and he’s achieving that by preserving over 622 acres of open space and environmentally sensitive land between 2018 and 2023 and investing $25 million in the preservation of farmland. Since 2018, Northampton County Farmland Preservation has preserved 3,812 acres on 73 farms, with another 1,000 potential acres added to the program in 2024, ensuring future generations benefit from our agricultural heritage.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lamont partnered with County Council to distribute more than $25 million in grants to nearly 2,000 small businesses. He spearheaded the creation of the county’s first Forensics Center, created a Suicide Prevention Task Force, and launched a Fentanyl awareness campaign. Prior to becoming County Executive, Lamont worked as an attorney, specializing in worker’s compensation and asbestos cases. He majored in history and international studies at Wilkes University and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law.
