Frank Alvarado, Director of Research and Data Management at Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. (LVEDC), has been selected to serve on a committee with The Council for Community and Economic Research.

The council, also known as C2ER, is the nationally recognized, trusted leader in the community, economic, and workforce research field. It develops and engages a diverse membership to elevate data-driven decision making to ensure prosperous communities.

Alvarado was selected for a seat on the council’s Regional Chapter Committee.

Committee members develop programming for the C2ER membership, including sessions at C2ER’s annual conference. At last year’s conference, Alvarado accepted an award on behalf of LVEDC for the Lehigh Valley Hot Careers Dashboard, an interactive, digital resource that helps students and job seekers explore careers that are growing in the Lehigh Valley’s major industry sectors.

C2ER Regional Chapter Committee members work to expand the organization’s network for regional economic development researchers and to increase interaction among chapter members.

“It is an honor to be asked to contribute to the nation’s premier network of data researchers in the economic development field,” Alvarado said. “The expertise in the C2ER community has helped to enhance LVEDC’s data program, and I look forward to advancing the organization’s mission.”

Alvarado was asked to join the Regional Chapter Committee because of his deep knowledge and innovation in data research at LVEDC.

He is responsible for tracking and reporting economic and demographic data of the Lehigh Valley and identifying opportunities for research –– such as cost-of-living and labor market and wage rate analysis –– that enhance LVEDC’s ability to market the region’s economic assets.

Alvarado oversees LVEDC’s participation in collecting quarterly cost-of-living data. At last year’s C2ER annual conference, Alvarado participated in a Regional Researchers Roundtable session.

Alvarado has been with LVEDC for about six years and previously served as Talent Strategies Manager.
