Lehigh Valley Projects Recognized with Awards for Creativity, Innovation at LVB Summit

Seventeen Lehigh Valley development projects, including manufacturing, offices, healthcare, housing, education, and community spaces were recognized recently at the Lehigh Valley Business Real Estate & Development Summit. 

Held on March 11 at DeSales University, the sold-out event brought together about 300 professionals in real estate, development, economic development, and related fields. Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) was one of the sponsors of the event.

Projects were judged based on criteria including degree of difficulty, design creativity, and innovative construction techniques.

Receiving Top Projects Awards in the Lehigh Valley were:

Advanced Healthcare of Allentown, Lower Macungie Township: A 37,000-square-foot transitional rehabilitation facility with 46 patient rooms and supporting services.

Allentown Art Museum Kress Gallery, Allentown: A complex historic renovation project of 3,330 square feet that involved incorporating modern features into a building constructed in 1901.

Falmer Drive Garden Apartments, Bethlehem Township: A three-story, 30-unit garden-style residential community with amenities including recreational space and EV charging.

Hanover Hill Behavioral Health, Hanover Township, Northampton County: The Lehigh Valley’s first fully dedicated standalone behavioral health facility, with 144 patient beds and in-patient and outpatient services. A partnership of Universal Health Services and Lehigh Valley Health Network, part of Jefferson Health. 

Honeywell, Upper Macungie Township: A fast-tracked renovation completed in only three months, modifying an unoccupied office space to meet Honeywell’s global experiential design standards.

Inflight Training Solutions, Allentown: An adaptive reuse project that transformed 6,500 square feet of space into a modern workspace supporting specialized aviation services.

Jefferson Health Lehigh Valley Health Network Women’s Health Center, Bethlehem: A three-story, 60,000-square-foot facility housing a variety of medical services, constructed on the former site of Martin Tower, once the headquarters of Bethlehem Steel. 

Jefferson Health/Lehigh Valley Health Network Health Center at Tower Place, Bethlehem: This first-of-its-kind facility for the Lehigh Valley offers specialized care for women, in a 40,000-square-foot facility constructed on the former site of Martin Tower, once the headquarters of Bethlehem Steel. 

Lehigh Valley Zoo, North Whitehall Township: The first phase of a four-phase project to construct and expanded children’s area involved demolition of a barn and related structures to make room for the Fred & Anne Jaindl Family Barnyard and the St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital Playground.

Moravian University Haupert Union Building, Bethlehem: Expanded space for students and community partners by demolishing and rebuilding the northern half of a previous two-story structure into four stories.

National Building, Easton: Renovated upper floors of a seven-story building in the Downtown Easton Historic District from office space to residential space.

National Museum of Industrial History, Bethlehem: Creation of a dynamic event space and expanded exhibition area on the second floor of a former Bethlehem Steel building of historical significance.

Phoenix Tube Expansion, Bethlehem: Expansion built on a constrained site and integrated with the company’s existing facility, while maintaining ongoing operations.

Ralph G. Schwarz Center for Colonial Industries/Grist Miller’s House, Bethlehem: Preserved a 1782 stone masonry residence while renovating it into a modern education facility. 

The Marquis, Easton: Construction of a seven-story, 371,442-square-foot apartment complex with 264 units that is the largest multi-family development in Easton. Includes street level retail and restaurant space.

Valley Health Partners at The Mill at Easton, Easton: Construction of a 12,585-square-foot health care facility that delivers a range of medical, dental, and behavioral health services close to where people live. 

Wallach Sports Performance and Lacrosse Center, Lafayette College, Forks Township: Construction of a 21,900-square-foot athletic facility with height restrictions and other technical and logistical challenges due to proximity to a nearby airport.
