The 6th annual Lehigh Valley Internship Summit will feature a keynote address by a local expert who consults with companies around the world about generations and emotional intelligence.
Dr. Nicole Loyd is Executive Vice President for University Life, Chief Operating Officer, and Dean of Students at Moravian University.
The keynote presentation, entitled Generations in the Workforce, will address fostering a workplace culture where five generations can work together and thrive alongside each other.
“Many companies want to engage and support their staff yet struggle to understand the priorities and motivations of individuals from different generations than their own. Dr. Loyd will illuminate how we can all build stronger understanding and greater belonging across generations,” said Karianne Gelinas, Vice President of Regional Partnerships & Talent Strategies at Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. (LVEDC).
The 2024 Internship Summit is scheduled for July 23 at DeSales University from 8 a.m. to noon. There is no cost to attend but individuals must register in advance. Register here.
Leaders from major Lehigh Valley employers and career services professionals from the Lehigh Valley’s colleges and universities will share best practices and trends in successful internship programs.
The summit is hosted by LVEDC with support from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in partnership with the region’s colleges and universities. The Host Sponsor is DeSales University. Penn State Lehigh Valley is a Gold Sponsor. Silver Sponsors are Barry Isett & Associates, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Manufacturers Resource Center, and Univest.
