The latest edition of the Lehigh Valley Talent Newsletter has been published, introducing a new tool for talent attraction, “Ask a Lehigh Valley Local,” and sharing key takeaways from the 7th Annual Internship Summit, among other regional highlights.

Ask a Lehigh Valley Local” is an online portal that provides people who are considering moving to the Lehigh Valley to work in the region’s growing economy with an opportunity to ask questions. It is a partnership between Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) and the Lehigh Valley Inter-Regional Networking & Connecting Consortium (LINC).

The summit drew a record attendance of about 150 educators and business leaders at DeSales University on July 23 to learn about best practices for starting and growing internships, and how to incorporate the growing use of artificial intelligence.

The Talent Newsletter also includes a video of leaders from Olympus Corporation of the Americas, OraSure Technologies, Evonik, and Shift4 explaining why Lehigh Valley continues to attract top talent.

An additional article is shared about Intern Impact Day, a day of volunteer service for students interning at Lehigh Valley companies. More than 350 interns at employers across the region teamed up on community service projects designed to allow them a chance to give back while getting to know the region better, in the hope that they will want to work here after graduating.

The Lehigh Valley Talent Newsletter is published quarterly by LVEDC to keep the Lehigh Valley community informed about talent-related news, local data and information, career paths, and national trends.

The Talent Newsletter is just one of the many initiatives driven by LVEDC’s Education and Talent Supply Council, a regional coalition formed in 2015. The council brings together leaders from business, education, and community organizations to identify talent market gaps and implement strategies that strengthen the talent pipeline in the Lehigh Valley.
