The latest edition of the Lehigh Valley Talent Newsletter has been published, providing a look at how regional talent strategies developed over more than a decade helped position the Lehigh Valley to land its largest investment ever.

Eli Lilly and Company scouted more than 300 communities across the country before deciding on the Lehigh Valley as the location for a $3.5 billion pharmaceutical manufacturing campus. Hundreds of factors were considered – with talent among those at the top.

The newsletter also includes an article about National Apprenticeship Week and how Melody Rodriguez-Ventura is launching a career as an electrician through a pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship.

The annual SkillsUSA Council Signing Day for career and technical education students is featured in the newsletter, along with the What’s So Cool About Manufacturing® program that introduces middle school students to careers in manufacturing.

The Lehigh Valley Talent Newsletter is published quarterly by Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) to keep the Lehigh Valley community informed about talent-related news, local data and information, career paths, and national trends.

You can read the current newsletter here and sign up for the e-newsletter here.

The Talent Newsletter is just one of the many initiatives driven by LVEDC’s Education and Talent Supply Council, a regional coalition formed in 2015. The council brings together leaders from business, education, and community organizations to identify talent market gaps and implement strategies that strengthen the talent pipeline in the Lehigh Valley.
