The 7th Annual Lehigh Valley Internship Summit held this summer, which inspired participants with informative presentations and plentiful networking opportunities, is summarized in a new video by Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) that shares key takeaways.

Held at DeSales University on July 23, the summit was presented by LVEDC in partnership with the Lehigh Valley’s colleges and universities. The event featured panel discussions and speakers who shared tips about how to start and grow internship programs; how to ensure they benefit both interns and employers; and how to incorporate artificial intelligence.

A record audience of about 150 people attended the Lehigh Valley Internship Summit, and several shared what they learned in the new video – watch it here – that was produced by Digital Feast.

“I think the best part of the Internship Summit is learning the best practices, the current state of what’s going on in internships,” said Dan Thomas, People & Culture Partner at Mack Trucks.

“We decided to participate in this Internship Summit because we have been developing our internship program. We can always certainly learn from the larger companies,” said Kimerbli Kyra, Human Resources Director at Barry Isett & Associates, Inc.

“I would say that the value of being able to attend an event like this are the people,” said Deena Linn, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Bosch Rexroth.

“LVEDC hosting an event like this is just absolutely amazing, to be able to connect with local businesses as well as universities and actually have a good ecosystem to really connect with the skillsets that we need now and into the future,” said Amit Parmar, CEO of Cliquify.
